Exploring Paris: The romantic terraces of Montmartre at night

Even though I’ve lived in Paris for 3 years back in the 2000s, I take even more pleasure capturing the city now that I don’t live there anymore. Maintaining a fresh eye and a unique perspective is easier that way.

So, for this episode of Exploring Paris, we will spend a delightful evening in the district of Montmartre, the picturesque neighborhood of Paris known for its romantic ambiance and its famous terraces.

So sit down and enjoy the nice walk.

Nikon D700

Nikon Nikkor AF-S 16-35mm f/4 G ED VR : a wide angle lens like this one is really ideal for travel photography and even though I wouldn’t recommend using the range from 16-20mm for classic editorial travel photography because of the distortion, it’s still a great tool to capture urban scenes (especially if the streets are very narrow).

Most of these pictures are HDR tonemapped in Oloneo PhotoEngine and blended with LDR exposures in Photoshop along with levels, curves and sharpening adjustments. Non HDR files are also available for licensing.
