Exploring Catalunya – A short Pyrenean Hike in Enveitg, Cerdanya

As a travel photographer, a trip to France is the perfect excuse for some personal work. So on the last of my trip before leaving The Pyrenees, when my family suggested we go for a quick hike, I was more than happy to bring my camera along with me.

Located in Cerdanya, a region of Pyrenees Orientales with a base elevation of 1.100m (3.600Ft), the hike we did was 8km+ long with an altitude starting at 1600m (5250Ft) and finishing at 2155m (7070Ft)

Before leaving, I had decided to go light and only carry my Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC on my Nikon D800. I am glad I did because even if the hike was short, some parts of the trail were a bit more challenging.

So let’s get started with a photo of the sinuous road that brought us to the trail.

The beginning was pleasant with some beautiful landscapes and horses pasturing as a visual entrée.

Moving along following a stone wall and then a stream, I took some time to take some interesting details from the forest as we walked through it.

Exiting the clearing and still following the stream, we then arrived to a beautiful waterfall.

Then, reaching the top of the waterfall, after being greeted by the cows, we decided to take a well deserved break for lunch.

Unfortunately, my time was up and it was time to head back with my uncle to pack up my stuff and take the train back to Paris and then fly back to Montreal.
