On Assignment: Portrait of Claude Cormier for Landscape Architecture Magazine

Following an assignment for the NY Times in which I was discovered by the editor of Landscape Architecture Magazine, I was hired to create a series of images at Claude Cormier + Associés offices in Montreal for their upcoming issue.

For this assignment, the editor wanted to get some portraits of Claude and his staff along with some detail photographs during my time there. For those who are not familiar with Claude Cormier, he is a well known figure in the field of landscape architecture.

After a few minutes scouting for some suitable locations for the portrait of Claude, I decided to set my sights onto a bright meeting room with some drawings and photographs on the wall. I thought this would make for a simple yet effective authentic portrait.

Then a bit later, I used the room again for some photos of Claude and his staff.

Then, I went with an alternative posed portrait inside the main space of their offices.

Being done with the posed portraits, I also wanted some additional photos of Claude in action around the office.

I really wanted the images to reflect the relaxed and fun yet professional atmosphere of the office.

Then once I was done with Claude, I decided to wander around the office and look for some photos of staff.

Finally, I completed the assignment with some cute and interesting detail shots.
