There is no secret to architecture photography. It's all about being there at the right time, no matter how early it has to be. Although in most cases, I shoot blue/golden hour photos at dusk, it does happen once in a while that I have to do it at dawn. In this specific case, considering how this main facade of the Volvo Trucks repair center (built by Montoni Group) was oriented (south and east), I had no choice but to get up at 3am in order...
The more I do it, the more I enjoy every opportunity I get to photograph exteriors. This why I was excited to make the trip to Baby Point district of Toronto to photograph Tact Design & Architecture latest condo building.
In order to be able to capture the facade lit by the sun, I decided to arrive at 4:30pm for a few day shots. At first, I focused on getting a few details shots and the building itself.

One of the key aspects of editorial travel photography is the ability to organize yourself efficiently. When The New York Times contacted me to do a piece on "36 Hours in Ottawa" in the middle of winter, I spent a fair amount of time to organize my trip as efficiently as possible.
One of the first task was locating all the locations mentioned in the article, see how they were grouped and look up each one and figure out which ones would be the most interesting....
A couple of years ago, I was commissioned by Novotel to photograph their Montreal hotel. It was a really fun shoot and although this new shoot with them was short and didn't include lifestyle photography, I had a great time capturing the new rooms which look amazing with their neutral colors and modern look.
As usual, for this type of photos, I used my 24mm Tilt Shift and merged vertical images into a panorama.

After a busy winter, I thought you'd enjoy a little update on some interesting projects I've shot lately.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful accessories store in Montreal.
For this short shoot, I decided to plan the project at dusk as I wanted to minimize reflections from outside. I really like how it makes the interiors stand out.

After a really busy end of the year in 2016, I'm back with a few interesting projects to share with you in 2017!
Although I've been mostly busy with non residential interior shoots in 2016, I always take pleasure in those residential shoots. This time, I had the opportunity to work with Jeffrey Lamb, an interior designer from Miami.
What I really enjoyed about this shoot is the way the designer mixed modern and classic style together, giving a unique touch to this Westmount Condo.

What I love about being a photographer is that each new assignment may bring you to a place you've never been before. So imagine my enthusiasm when I was contacted by Bradford Construction to photograph at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus. It's not everyday that you get to photograph inside a brand new operating room. I hope you'll enjoy the pictures as much as I had fun taking them.

One of the upsides to being a photographer is to travel to amazing locations. So When Lumenpulse contacted me to photograph one of their projects in Paris, I was really thrilled (even though it's Paris in Ontario). Paris is a small town from Ontario that features a small dam.
